Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma Heming Willis, has spoken about his health. Bruce, the famous actor from Die Hard, is now 70 years old. He was told more than three years ago that he has a sickness called frontotemporal dementia. This illness makes it hard for him to use language and affects his brain.
Emma said Bruce is still strong and healthy in his body. He can move well, and he looks fine. But his brain is slowly failing, and his words are going away. She said the family has learned to talk with him in different ways.

Emma is writing a new book called Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope, and Yourself on the Caregiving Path. She hopes it will help other people who take care of loved ones with dementia. At first, she thought she had to do everything alone. This made her feel very tired and lonely. Now, she wants to share her story so others will not feel the same.
Emma also said that even though Bruce’s sickness is hard, the family still sees small happy moments. Sometimes Bruce laughs in his big, warm way. Sometimes there is a “twinkle in his eye” or a little smile that reminds them of who he is. Emma said these moments are short, but very special. She is thankful her husband is still with her and their family.
