On Friday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to rename the Department of Defense as the Department of War. The leader of the department will now be called the Secretary of War instead of the Secretary of Defense.
Mr. Trump was also asked about a 2019 Navy SEAL mission in North Korea that went wrong. He said he did not know anything about it.
Another order he signed gives the U.S. the power to punish countries that illegally detain or hold American citizens hostage.
On the economy, new reports showed the U.S. job market is weaker than experts expected. In August, the country added only 22,000 jobs, which is much lower than what economists predicted. Manufacturing jobs fell by 31,000 over the past three months.

President Trump blamed the problem on high interest rates and said his policies, like tariffs, have not yet shown their full effects. His officials suggested the numbers could be corrected upward later.
Mr. Trump also talked about vaccines. He said some vaccines, like the polio vaccine, are “amazing” and work very well. He argued that when a vaccine is proven and not controversial, people should take it. He also noted that many people think positively about the COVID-19 vaccine.
Trump explained that refusing vaccines could put others at risk. “You have vaccines that work. They just pure and simple work,” he said.
